STRANGE LAND has had a remarkable life ever since its premiere on Oct. 25, 2006 at the Hawaii International Film Festival. It's been shown in many community venues and several private screenings. Everywhere and every time it's shown, the reaction is the same -- people love this film. They find my mom and her storytelling engaging and enchanting. But STRANGE LAND's life is just beginning!
For a time, I am making available a limited number of copies of the original version of STRANGE LAND that features the Bobby Darin song, BEYOND THE SEA.
To support this project and its future exposure, make a donation of #$25 or more (larger donations are welcomed!) and I'll send you a copy of this original version. The Darin song, BEYOND THE SEA will likely be removed for the home DVD release.
What will your donation help me accomplish? It will help give this film its life. I will use the donated funds to pay for:

music rights and to pay a new composer to replace the Darin song ($1,500 to $3,500 fee)

DVD duplication services for promotions and to help find a TV market and distributor ($800 for 300 copies)

the services of a graphic designer for publicity materials (about $1,000)

marketing and PR opportunities, including traveling to showings and festivals ($5,000 needed)

film festival fees ($30 to $100 a festival)
